Museo Soumaya
We visited this museum back during Holy Week (aka two months ago), and I have been meaning to post since then! Fortunately, the New York Times went ahead and wrote the text for me (haha - read it here) so that sort of spurred me on.
This is Mexico City's newest attraction — a museum built by the world's richest man. Perhaps you've heard of him? Carlos Slim? He's Mexican. Anyway, this is where he keeps his nice art, along with some other pieces people have loaned him. And now he's sharing it with the world. It's free, not just for Mexicans but for everyone, and it's also pretty stroller friendly — two great qualities in a museum!
The setup is sort of like the Guggenheim, with ramps spiraling down from the top floor, which is where you have to start. (Yes, HAVE TO.)

W really enjoyed it, too, as you can see.
On the lower levels was everything from pre-hispanic to European art.
If you're going to be in Mexico City, I highly recommend a visit to the Museo Soumaya. It's diverse and not too big to be unmanageable, and it's also shiny, new and FREE. No matter how conflicted one might feel about Mr. Slim (see Wikipedia link above), you might as well enjoy his art, right?
