Happy Easter!

I wasn't even sure if the Easter Bunny (and his friend, Santa) would be coming to our house once we had a child, what with keeping the holidays sacred and meaningful, but it seems the Easter Bunny would not be kept away! And let me tell you, the Easter Bunny had one heckuva time finding a stuffed bunny yesterday, not being from this area. Fortunately he finally found something at like the 800th store he visited, having vowed not to go home bunny-less. W also received a couple of new outfits, a book and some new, badly needed bibs. The Easter Bunny was aware of his severe drooling situation!
So it has begun. The tradition of the holiday visitor bearing gifts. I suppose Santa could always not come, or the bunny... but I have a feeling they will. I definitely always want W (and any other kids, and MYSELF) to understand and value the true reason behind Easter, and behind Christmas. So I am going to have to work on that.
In that spirit... the greatest moment in all history, and probably the best surprise ever, from Mark 16:
1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.Happy Easter my friends! May God continue to do awesome miracles in all our lives and for our world.
