Our House?

Well, it's not official yet but we are a big step closer to having a house! It's the one I referenced at the end of this post. Saturday my mom came in to town from Cuernavaca and we took her, my brother-in-law and my husband's cousin the engineer to examine the house. We were happy to hear Cousin's opinion that the house was in good shape and coule be modified to meet our need for a third bedroom. That night, we made an offer. The next morning as we walked into church, we got the answer — offer accepted, no haggling about it. (This was after another psycho pregnancy dream I had where the seller tried to make me help her do her job in order to sweeten the deal, and then she told us she had found a renter instead. So I was not feeling too optimistic!)

The fact that we got our answer walking into church wasn't what convinced me but I know this was an answer to prayer. Over the past few months my prayer life has not been the best. But in the middle of the house hunt, I was feeling so frustrated and all of the sudden I realized how dumb I was being — worrying and feeling down when I was not even asking for the help of the God of the universe! I started praying about that and many other matters, on a daily basis (just like I used to). Saturday we looked at The House and also at the "Plan B" Apartment, one we've had our eye on in case nothing else worked out. That afternoon I felt at peace because I knew either the house would work out, or there would be Plan B, and either way it would be fine. So I left it in God's hands and what an answer!

We still have to do the paperwork, get the house evaluated by the bank, etc. But here's a sneak peek....

OK, sorry... I know I'm being a tease! But that's the driveway that leads to the cluster of six houses. More to come some other day!

Yay! You're lucky I'm so excited for you and Fran that I will overlook the lack of REAL photos. Good luck with the rest of the process.
